ABOUT MY BLOG AND MY LOVE OF LANGUAGE LEARNING

I've always enjoyed watching foreign shows like anime from Japan.  Then, the music bug hit me and I started listening to foreign music.  A friend of mine introduced to K-pop about the same time I fell in love with a beautiful Taiwanese singer named Rainie Yang, and I was hooked.  My eyes had been opened to the beautiful world of foreign languages, and my brain wanted to understand what they were singing about.

My first steps towards speaking another language

 I used resources like youtube.com, Duolingo.com, and books from the local library to study Japanese and Spanish.  I hired private tutors from various websites and studied song lyrics in an effort to learn.  I was able to teach myself the Japanese alphabets and learned to read and understand Spanish, but my speaking and listening abilities were still not there.  I still had a lot of questions.  I am a lifelong student who is constantly studying with native speakers and honing my skills.
